MyTools

MyTools is a design thinking course, built in collaboration with the Institute of Play and the Quest to Learn School.

This after-school course introduce students to new technology, fosters self-directed and informal learning, and transforms students into designers of their own education.

As Product Manager , I worked on the second iteration of the course with Q2L faculty to create a detailed curriculum package.

MyTools is an afterschool course that focuses on teaching Design Thinking and building independent learners through the use of digital maker tools. Student in the course complete 3 units.

In the first unit, students explore many tools and become familiar with basic functionalities and potential. In the second unit, students become experts in one or more tools that they use to implement a project of their own design. In the third unit, students teach their tool to peers and faculty members at the school, who might want to include these resources in their courses.

The curriculum package includes a facilitator guide and step by step instructions.

The sequence of learning, discussion prompts, and activities were developed through the collaboration of game designers, faculty and myself as the project’s Product Manager .
